John Floyd Williams "Kool Aid" of 595 Salisbury Rd. died Saturday, March 7, 2009. A native of Rayle, GA and resident of Hendersonville for 56 years, he was born March 18, 1932 to Lucy Mae Wise Williams of Hendersonville and the late James Williams.
In 1971 Mr. Williams retired from the US Air Force after 20 years of service. He later retired from the US Postal Service where he was employed for 20 years. He was a member of the VFW, American Legion and Masons.
Surviving in addition to his mother are his wife, Johnnie Ruth Lee Williams; sons, Tim Williams of Mt. Clemens, MI and Derrick Williams (Diane) of Arden; daughters, Sandra Williams of Mt. Clemens, MI, Tina M. Gray (Christopher) of Detroit, MI, Yonna D. Lundy (Charles) of Hendersonville, Beverly K. Lee and Sonja Lee of Atlanta, GA and Scharon Johnson (Howard) of Baltimore, MD; brother, James Williams of Orlando, FL; sisters, Geneva Thomas and Sarah Moore of Athens, GA; uncles, Roy Wise of Grand Rapids, MI and William Wise of Lansing, MI; ten grandchildren, five great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. in Star of Bethel Baptist Church where he was a member. Rev. Charles E. Rowe will officiate, burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
