Kevin Ray Wilson of 342-B South French Broad Ave. died Monday, March 13, 2006. A native of Picayune, MS he was a son of the late Martin and Henrietta Abram Wilson.
Kevin graduated from Ben Lippen High School and Columbia International University where he received his bachelors degree and masters degree. He received Certificates of Completion in several disciplines from Institute Des Etudes Supplimentaire Sorbonne, USC and UNC Chapel Hill Institute of Government.
Kevin was a resident of Asheville for over 13 years. He worked for the city of Asheville as assistant Human Resource Director from 1996 to 1999 and in 1999 as the Director of Human Resources. He went on to become the Director of Training and Development for the Mediation Center and then Special Projects Coordinator for the Asheville Housing Authority.
Surviving are his sisters, Gwen Robinson (Paul) of Bay St. Louis, MS and Veronica Simpson of Gulf Port, MS; brothers, Larry Wilson (Christine) of Waveland, MS, Randy Wilson (Jackie) of Stafford, VA, David Wilson (Barbara) of Biloxi, MS and Matthew Acker (Linda) of New Orleans, Louisiana; nieces, Wendy Augustus (Thor) of Pass Christian, MS, Tanesha Darensburg (Adam) of Waveland, MS and Dee Esther Simpson of Bay St. Louis, MS, nephews, Allen Frederick (Gladys) of Bay St. Louis, MS, Daniel Simpson of Gulf Port, MS, Jason Robinson of San Antonio, TX, Travis Wilson of Waveland, MS and Bradford Frederick (Stacy) of Waveland, MS.; numerous great nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Memorial Services will be held Thursday at 11 AM in St. Matthias Episcopal Church of which he was a member. Rev. Jim Abbott will officiate.The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
Other times the family will be at the home of Rick and Denise Huntly, 770 Olivette Road Asheville.
